NEWS: KIA UNVEILS NEW SPORTAGE WITH DIESEL MILD-HYBRID POWERTRAIN, NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND FRESH DESIGN

  • Updated interior and exterior design for UK and global best-seller
  • Revised powertrain line-up includes EcoDynamics+ 2.0-litre diesel mild-hybrid and efficient new 1.6-litre ‘U3’ diesel
  • EcoDynamics+ powertrain reduces CO2 emissions by up to four per cent under WLTP
  • New technologies include upgraded infotainment and active driver aids
  • On-sale in Europe during later this year

Kia Motors has revealed the New Kia Sportage, introducing a range of enhancements to the brand’s UK, European and global best-seller. The new model pairs an updated exterior and interior design with new safety and infotainment technologies. Powertrains are also fully-compliant with future emissions standards.

The Sportage’s advanced new EcoDynamic+ 48V diesel mild-hybrid powertrain is the first to be launched as part of the brand’s global powertrain electrification strategy. Kia is the first manufacturer to offer hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery-electric and 48-volt mild-hybrid technology across its full model line-up. Kia will launch 16 advanced powertrain vehicles by 2025, including five new hybrids, five plug-in hybrids, five battery-electric vehicles and, in 2020, a new fuel-cell electric vehicle.

Kia sold more than 131,000 examples of the Sportage in 2017, representing a quarter of the brand’s total European sales. In the UK, the Sportage continues to be the brand’s biggest seller with 39,683 delivered to customers in 2017, making up over a third of UK sales last year. Updates to the Sportage range also include modifications to ‘GT-Line’ models. European customer deliveries of the new model will start during Q3 2018.

Upgraded powertrains include new EcoDynamics+ diesel mild-hybrid

The Sportage now offers a wider range of engines, including Kia’s new ‘EcoDynamics+’ 2.0-litre ‘R’ diesel mild-hybrid powertrain. EcoDynamics+ supplements acceleration with power from a 48-volt battery, and extends engine ‘off time’ with a new Mild-Hybrid Starter-Generator unit. It can reduce CO2 emissions by up to four per cent on the Worldwide harmonized Light vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP).

The Sportage’s existing 1.7-litre CRDi (Common-Rail Direct injection) diesel engine has been replaced with Kia’s efficient new 1.6-litre ‘U3’ CRDi engine, the cleanest diesel engine Kia has ever made. The new 1.6-litre diesel engine produces 115 or 136ps, with higher-powered models available with all-wheel drive and seven-speed double-clutch transmission.

All powertrains are now fully compliant with the Euro 6d TEMP emissions standards.

Updates to attractive Kia SUV design

Improvements to the Sportage’s sporty exterior design include new front and rear bumpers, as well as redesigned front and rear lamps and new 16-, 17- and 19-inch alloy wheel designs. Options include chrome sill trim and metallic skid plates, and five new paint colours.

‘GT-Line’ models are equipped with a gloss black hot-stamped radiator grille, a gloss black and silver skid plate, and dark chrome inserts on the side sills and rear tailgate. The GT-Line’s unique 19-inch alloy wheels have been redesigned, and all models are fitted with a dual exhaust rear valance and revised ‘ice cube’ LED fog lamp designs.

The newly-refined cabin features a new steering wheel and revised instrument cluster, as well as new black-and-grey two-tone upholstery. ‘GT-Line’ models are available with new black-and-grey two-tone leather seats, or optional black leather with red accents.

Smart safety technologies and new infotainment systems

The new Sportage adopts Kia’s latest advanced driving assistance systems, including Smart Cruise Control with Stop&Go, an Around View Monitor for easier parking manoeuvres, and Driver Attention Warning, to combat fatigue and inattentiveness at the wheel. European customers have a choice of Kia’s new infotainment systems: a 7.0-inch touchscreen, or a new ‘frameless’ 8.0-inch infotainment system.

UK on-sale date, pricing and specification will be announced in due course.

NEWS: GAME CHANGING STINGER WINS AT AUTOCAR AWARDS 2018

  • All-new Kia Stinger named as ‘Game Changer’ at annual awards
  • The Kia Stinger is the brand’s first gran turismo
  • Award adds to Stinger’s growing number of accolades in 2018

The all-new Kia Stinger, Kia’s first gran turismo, has been lauded as a ‘Game Changer’ at this year’s Autocar Awards. The awards, held at Silverstone on Tuesday 15 May, celebrate the most important cars of the last year.

The most adventurous model in the company’s history, the Stinger was recognised for its ability to compete with rivals that have been long-established in the sector with its elegance, dynamism and sophistication.

Mark Tisshaw, Autocar Editor, commented: "What the Korean manufacturer has lacked is a car that makes you sit up and go 'phwoar' when it rolls past. And with the new Stinger GT, that’s exactly what Kia has built. This is a car that’s intended to show the world that Kia is also a force to be reckoned with when it comes to creating engaging, dynamically focused, rear-driven drivers’ cars worthy of comparison against Europe’s finest."

Gregory Guillaume, Chief Designer at Kia Motors Europe, said on collecting the award: “We are absolutely delighted that the Stinger has been named as a ‘Game Changer’ by Autocar. The Stinger meant such a lot to the whole team throughout the entire design process, so to receive this award from Autocar is really special.”

Since its unveiling in January 2017, the Kia Stinger has altered the perceptions of the Kia brand to many. Based on the GT Concept from the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Kia Stinger evokes memories of the classic age of grand tourers. Stinger is the first classic grand tourer from Kia and the first rear-wheel-drive model the company has introduced to Europe. In range-topping twin-turbo V6 guise it is also the fastest-accelerating Kia ever, with a 0-60mph time of 4.7 seconds.

  • Kia becomes Official Car Partner under two-year agreement
  • The announcement continues Kia’s strong ties to the sport

Kia Motors (UK) Ltd is set to become Official Car Partner to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), continuing its long-standing affinity with the sport.

Kia’s first link with cricket came in 2010 when the brand became club and ground sponsor of Surrey County Cricket Club and the Kia Oval. It is also the inaugural title sponsor of the Kia Super League and the first ever Official Partner of the England women’s team.

ECB Commercial Director Rob Calder said: “Kia are part of cricket in this country through their existing partnerships, in county cricket and the women’s game both internationally and domestically.

NEWS: KIA NIRO WINS BEST HYBRID IN DIESELCAR AND ECOCAR TOP 50

  • Niro wins Best Hybrid for a second consecutive year
  • Four Kia models in total on the DieselCar and EcoCar Top 50 list

The Kia Niro has been named the Best Hybrid by DieselCar and EcoCar for the second year in a row. The Niro was placed 48 in the Top 50 list of cars to buy.

Launched in 2016, the Kia Niro combines the in-demand styling of a compact crossover vehicle with the low emissions and high fuel economy of a hybrid car. With CO2 emissions as low as 88g/km and fuel economy of up to 74.3mpg for the hybrid and 29g/km CO2 and fuel economy of 217.3mpg for the PHEV, Niro will be significant in helping Kia meet its pledge to reduce the average emissions of its range by 25 per cent before 2020.

Ian Robertson, Editor of DieselCar and EcoCar Magazine commented on the win: “The Kia Niro was one of the first hybrid models to embrace crossover styling, making it more practical for families and a bit more stylish too. Sitting just below the Sportage in size, it’s ideal for driving in town where its twin-clutch automatic gearbox also pays dividends. Fuel economy of around 70mpg is easy on the wallet and upgrading to the plug-in hybrid version boosts the official laboratory figure to an astounding 217mpg. This is thanks to an all-electric driving range of up to 36 miles.”

Kia is one of only five brands to have four or more models in the annual Top 50 list of cars to buy. The Sportage was Kia’s best Top 50 position this year in sixth place, proving it is still ever popular with customers. The all-new Stinger, Kia's first grand tourer, appeared on the list at number 44. Despite being introduced back in 2012, the cee’d continues to be recognised for its strengths and rounds up the list at number 50.

Paul Philpott, President and CEO of Kia Motors (UK) Limited said: “We are delighted the Niro has been recognised with this award as it continues to be popular with customers. Having four models on the list emphasises Kia’s ability to cater to customer’s needs.”

NEWS: 2018 RED DOT AWARDS: ANOTHER TRIPLE TRIUMPH FOR KIA DESIGN

2018 RED DOT AWARDS: ANOTHER TRIPLE TRIUMPH FOR KIA DESIGN

  • Kia Stinger wins ‘Red Dot: Best of the Best’ award
  • Kia receives trio of design awards for Stinger, Stonic and Picanto
  • Latest triple victory increases Kia’s total to 21 Red Dot wins
  • Kia has triumphed again in the Red Dot Awards, securing three prestigious awards for design. The Stinger gran turismo, the Stonic compact crossover and the third-generation Picanto city car all won in their respective categories. The international jury of design experts awarded the Stinger the ‘Best of the Best’ title, praising the car for its pioneering design.

The trio of victories adds to Kia’s continuing success, with the brand having now won a remarkable 21 Red Dot Awards since the Kia Soul first took victory in 2009. These latest awards follow Kia’s triple iF Design Award win earlier in 2018.

“Our global design team can be incredibly proud of their latest triple triumph. It highlights Kia’s passion for design quality and ingenuity, which has once again been lauded by a panel of international design experts,” says Peter Schreyer, President and Chief Design Officer of Kia Motors Corporation. “Winning the ‘Red Dot: Best of the Best’ for the fourth time is truly exceptional. With its modern take on the classic gran turismo style, the Kia Stinger is further proof of Kia’s high design standards.”

The Stinger, designed at Kia’s European design centre in Frankfurt, Germany, marries classic gran turismo design with a spacious and cosseting interior. Taking inspiration from the grand tourers of the 1970s, the Stinger features elegant fastback proportions and a muscular ‘coke bottle’ shape down its flanks, highlighting the car’s rear-wheel biased power delivery.

Also designed in Frankfurt, the Stonic, Kia’s debut compact crossover, offers a striking and bold exterior design, combined with an elevated seating position and practical SUV format. It is the most colourful Kia ever made, offering buyers a wide choice of two-tone paint combinations and interior colours.

The third generation of the Kia Picanto – Kia’s smallest car – brings a youthful and energetic character to the A-segment. It boasts a distinctive new design and a high-quality, high-tech cabin, with huge potential for customisation. Despite its compact dimensions, the Picanto’s intelligent design makes it one of the most spacious cars in its class.

NEWS: PICANTO LINE-UP EXPANDS WITH THE ARRIVAL OF X-LINE EDITION

PICANTO LINE-UP EXPANDS WITH THE ARRIVAL OF X-LINE EDITION

  • Kia’s smallest car in the UK gains X-Line variant
  • Features chunky crossover-inspired styling
  • 7.0-inch touchscreen display with satellite navigation, Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ connectivity fitted as standard
  • Autonomous Emergency Braking and Hill-start Assist control included
  • On sale 9 January 2018; order books open now
  • Prices start at £12,595
Picanto X-Line

Following its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA), the latest addition to the Picanto range, the All-New Picanto X-Line goes on sale on 9 January 2018 at Kia showrooms. The ‘X-Line’ variant further broadens the appeal of Kia’s city car, with styling that draws inspiration from the company’s SUV model lines, including the Stonic, Sportage and Sorento.

Prices start at £12,595 for the ‘X-Line’ equipped with the 1.25-litre petrol engine and five-speed manual gearbox, with a four-speed automatic transmission available for an additional £650. Affordability is one of the Picanto’s key features, with CO2 emissions that are as low as 106g/km on the manual transmission, and a combined fuel economy figure of 61.4mpg.

Picanto with attitude
The ‘X-Line’ variant introduces a series of rugged new design cues and is longer, wider and taller than conventional city cars, and has increased ground clearance. It makes no pretence at being a full-blown SUV – power is transmitted through the front wheels only – but has a more rugged look which will widen the audience of the all-new Picanto in a market in which the crossover is king. At 75mm longer, 30mm wider and 15mm taller, the increase in height is accounted for by the greater ground clearance. There’s more imposing, SUV-style bumpers with metal-look skid plates at the front and rear, for a more confident and go-anywhere appearance.

Unique to the ‘X-Line’ model, the grille and fog lamp surrounds are finished with lime green highlights, while black cladding around the side sills and wheel arches enhances the visual effect of the raised ground clearance. The exterior door handles are finished in body colour and privacy glass is fitted to the rear windows and tailgate. Completing the more muscular look are twin exhaust outlets, 16-inch alloy wheels with 195/45 R16 tyres, a shark-fin antenna and projection headlights with LED daytime running lights and fog lamps.

Kitted out for urban life
The splashes of colour are carried over to the interior with lime green stitching for the flat-bottomed steering wheel, gear lever gaiter and armrests. The large 7.0-inch ‘floating’ touchscreen features DAB radio, as well as Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ for full smartphone integration. Other equipment highlights include unique grey faux leather upholstery, a central armrest, satin chrome interior door handles and stainless-steel pedals with rubber inserts, in addition to cruise control with speed limiter, automatic air conditioning and keyless entry.

The latest Picanto is the safest A-segment car Kia has ever made, featuring an Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) body construction and six standard airbags (front, front side and curtain airbags). Active safety features are also included, such as standard-fit Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), to ensure stability under braking and cornering. In addition, the ‘X-Line’ is fitted with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) as standard – a key technology adopted to enhance safety in urban environments. The system can bring the car to a complete stop at speeds up to 50mph and to a partial stop at speeds over this figure.

Torque Vectoring is also included, and is a further aid to handling stability. Using the anti-lock brake and ESC sensors, it detects when the car is drifting off its intended course in corners and gently brakes the inside rear wheel if the front of the car is running wide, or the outer rear wheel if the rear tyres are starting to slide outwards. Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) prevents the car from rolling backwards when setting off on uphill gradients, and is another of the Picanto’s invaluable driver assistance features.

Class-leading practicality
In line with market demand, the Picanto is available exclusively with a practical five-door bodystyle and is regularly one of the top five best-selling city cars. It boasts class-leading cabin space, with more leg- and head-room than all other rivals in the A-segment. Boot capacity is 255 litres (VDA) – the most of any car in its class – with 60:40 split-folding rear seats, which can fold flat to increase capacity to 1,010 litres.

Powerful petrol engine
The ‘X-Line’ comes equipped with a powerful and refined 83bhp 1,248cc four-cylinder, 16-valve engine developing 122Nm of torque. The powerplant was extensively re-engineered for the launch of the latest Picanto in 2017 and is from the Kappa family of engines. It provides lively performance for zipping around in urban traffic, with plenty in reserve for motorway driving. A five-speed manual gearbox is standard, with a four-speed automatic transmission available as an option.

The best warranty in the business
In line with every Kia, the Picanto ‘X-Line’ comes with the best warranty in the business – seven years or 100,000 miles, including labour, subject to terms and conditions. The warranty is fully transferable to the next owner if the car is sold before the time or mileage limit expires. The all-new Picanto requires servicing every 10,000 miles or 12 months, and retail customers can benefit from low-cost Care-3 and Care-3 Plus servicing packages. These are also transferrable.

NEWS: KIA MOTORS TO PROVIDE VEHICLES FOR THE UNITED NATIONS

KIA MOTORS TO PROVIDE VEHICLES FOR THE UNITED NATIONS

  • UN provided with a fleet of Kia Rio, Sorento and Forte models
  • Vehicles will support UN causes around the world
Kia Rio and Sorento: Soon to be performing United Nations duties
Kia Motors has won a global vehicle provision bid held by the United Nations Procurement Division (UN/DP) to provide vehicles to the UN and UN Entities. Kia won the bid against competition from various leading global car manufacturers and will provide vehicles and maintenance services for the next three years.

A fleet of Kia Rio, Sorento and Forte (not sold in Europe) models will be delivered to the UN and UN Entities, and will carry the UN mark whilst supporting its causes and activities.

This is a significant achievement for Kia. Becoming a supplier to the United Nations is testament to the quality of Kia vehicles and the brand’s competitiveness in the global automobile market.

The UN awarded the contract to Kia Motors the aim of consolidating the vehicle requirements of the UN Entities to take advantage of economies of scale, better quality, and better after-sale support, which is hugely important to the UN and UN Entities.

NEWS: KIA MOTORS BUILDS ITS THREE MILLIONTH CAR IN EUROPE

KIA MOTORS BUILDS ITS THREE MILLIONTH CAR IN EUROPE

  • Three million cars built in Žilina, Slovakia since December 2006
  • Milestone car is a white Kia cee’d for a customer in Iceland
  • Factory produced 335,600 vehicles and 539,987 engines in 2017
  • Production base for the Kia cee’d model family, Sportage and Venga
  • Kia’s presence in Europe has created 184,386 direct and indirect jobs
  • Kia Motors has manufactured its three millionth car in Europe since production began in Žilina, Slovakia in 2006.
Three millionth Kia built in Europe

The three millionth car to roll off the production line is a Kia cee’d. The car is a fusion white five-door hatchback in ‘GT-Line’ specification, built for a customer in Iceland. It is fitted with a 1.0-litre T-GDi (Turbo Gasoline-Direct injection) engine.

In 2017, Kia Motors Slovakia manufactured 335,600 vehicles and 539,987 engines, exporting to more than 80 countries around the world. The most popular engine last year was the 1.7-litre CRDi (Common-Rail Direct injection) diesel engine.

Žilina is home to the production of three models in Kia’s European line-up – the popular Kia cee’d model family (incorporating cee’d five-door hatchback, Sportswagon and pro_cee’d), the best-selling Kia Sportage and the Kia Venga compact MPV. Since May 2013, Kia Motors Slovakia has also manufactured the brand’s first-ever performance models for Europe, the high-powered cee’d GT and pro_cee’d GT. Together, Kia’s range of European-manufactured models account for nearly 50 per cent of the company’s total European sales.

Kia’s European production base has built a reputation for producing high quality vehicles, and plays an important role in helping the brand deliver its industry-leading seven-year/100,000 mile warranty. The unique warranty is applied as standard to every Kia car sold in Europe.

European production for two best-selling models

Since volume production started, the Kia cee’d model family – designed, engineered and manufactured exclusively in Europe for the European market – has accounted for almost half of total production at Žilina. To date, Kia has manufactured close to 1.3 million units of the cee’d. In 2017, the cee’d was Kia’s third best-selling car in the UK.

The plant produced 646,300 first-generation cee’d vehicles from its launch in 2006, until the launch of the second-generation model in 2012. 647,700 second generation cars have been produced, and the facility is due to start production of the third-generation Ceed in the second quarter of 2018. Like its predecessors, the new model will be manufactured exclusively in Europe for European customers.

The Žilina plant has produced three generations of the Sportage compact SUV, commencing with the second-generation model in 2007. Since then, close to 1.4 million examples of the Sportage have been produced, with 104,500 second-generation models, 797,500 third-generation models and 492,000 of the current model, which entered production at the end of 2015.

Engine production – more than four-million engines built

As well as producing Kia’s most popular European models, Žilina has also been the European home of Kia engine manufacturing. With two engine production workshops on-site, more than four million engines have been produced since 2006.

Kia Motors Slovakia is responsible for the production of a range of petrol (1.4-litre MPI, 1.6-litre GDI and, for GT models, the 201 bhp 1.6-litre T-GDI) and diesel (1.4-, 1.6-, and 1.7-litre CRDi and 2.0-litre ‘R’) engines. The facility will also manufacture Kia’s efficient new ‘U3’ 1.6-litre diesel engine, which will power a range of vehicles in the coming years, including the all-new third-generation Kia Ceed.

The socio-economic benefits of Kia in Europe

A 2017 report by leading independent European economic consultancy, London Economics, entitled ‘The economic and societal benefits deriving from the presence of Kia in Europe’, highlighted the wider role played by Kia Motors across the continent.

Kia is a net contributor to the European economy: Kia Motors income tax, custom duty and sales contributions to the European governments totalled €1.2 billion in 2016. With the continuous expansion of production at the manufacturing facility in Žilina, Kia Motors Slovakia purchased 73 per cent of its supplies, worth €3.8 billion, from sources within Europe.

The report also notes that 184,386 people owe their jobs to the presence of the brand in Europe, employed directly by Kia or indirectly through the supply chain and sales and distribution. The Žilina facility has created around 15,000 direct and indirect jobs.

NEWS: KIA SPORTAGE HITS FIVE MILLION GLOBAL SALES

KIA SPORTAGE HITS FIVE MILLION GLOBAL SALES
  • Milestone figure achieved during Sportage’s 25th anniversary
  • Sportage first introduced the idea of the ‘urban SUV’ to consumers in 1991
  • Kia’s bestselling model in the UK in 2017
  • Current-generation Sportage reaches a million sales 29 months after launch
  • Kia Motors is celebrating five million cumulative sales of its global best-selling Kia Sportage compact SUV.
KIA SPORTAGE HITS FIVE MILLION GLOBAL SALES

Launched in 1993, and spanning four generations since, the Kia Sportage has achieved this milestone in the year of its 25th anniversary. The latest model, launched in 2016, is more popular than ever, with average global sales of 38,000 units per month in 2017. In the UK, the Sportage continues to be the brand’s biggest seller with 39,683 delivered to customers in 2017 making up over a third of UK sales last year.

“We are extremely proud to have achieved this milestone production figure for our global best-seller. The continued and accelerating popularity of the Sportage demonstrates the breadth of the car’s abilities and the strength of its appeal to buyers in markets all around the world,” said Ho Sung Song, Executive Vice President of Global Operations Divison, “Since 1993, the Sportage has become a benchmark car in the compact SUV segment, and its success has also led to the creation of a diverse and comprehensive range of SUVs and crossovers from Kia – with other new models to follow in future.”

In 2016 and 2017, the Sportage surpassed the B-segment Rio as the brand’s global best-selling model. Strong sales of the Sportage in January and February 2018 – 36,632 and 32,930 units respectively – contributed to the model’s production landmark.

The Sportage made its first appearance at the 1991 Tokyo Motor Show, introducing the concept of the ‘Urban SUV’ to consumers for the first time – it set the blueprint for a compact, practical SUV, suitable for use in a variety of environments. This first generation Sportage was an instant hit, recording total lifetime sales of over 500,000 units.

Sales of the second-generation Sportage totalled 1,223,776 units globally after seven years of production. The third-generation model surpassed one million sales in just four years, helping the Sportage reach two million cumulative sales during its sixth year in production.

The fourth and current generation Sportage features a bold, progressive design, while offering greater practicality and an array of comfort, convenience and safety technologies. Its engine and transmission line-up also provides enhanced efficiency and performance to address a broad range of customer needs. More popular than ever, the one-millionth fourth-generation Sportage was sold in January, after just 29 months on-sale.

The Kia Sportage has historically been acknowledged for the strength of its design, having been awarded ‘iF Design’ and ‘red dot’ design prizes in both its third and fourth generations. The vehicle achieved the highest safety rating from the USA’s Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in 2017, while in Europe it was awarded the highest safety rating of five stars by Euro NCAP.

KIA PICANTO AND STINGER WIN AT WHAT CAR? AWARDS 2018

  • All-New Picanto wins overall Best City Car category
  • All-New Stinger celebrates sub-category win for Best Executive Car
  • Wins top a successful 2017 for the brand
Kia Picanto: Best City Car
Kia Picanto: Best City Car
Following on from a successful 2017 which saw over 93,200 models sold, and four new model launches, Kia has received yet more good news to celebrate – winning two awards at the 40th anniversary What Car? Awards, held in London.

Impressing the What Car? judges and winning ‘Best City Car’ was the all-new Kia Picanto. Launched in April 2017, the third generation A-segment Picanto has huge appeal for customers – cutting-edge in-car technology such as Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smart phone integration and wireless smartphone charging, a bold new design both inside and out, as well as a high level of safety features.

Commenting on the win, What Car? Editor, Steve Huntingford said, “Knocking the Hyundai i10 off its perch in this class was never going to be easy, but Kia has managed it, creating a car that’s more spacious inside and better to drive.”

Kia Stinger: Best Executive Car
Kia Stinger: Best Executive Car
Since being officially unveiled in January 2017, the Kia Stinger has changed the brand perception of Kia to many and shown the world what it is capable of. It went on-sale in January 2018 and feedback from consumers has been exceptional. Now cementing that good news for this ground-breaking product is another What Car? award win, with  ‘Best Executive Car for more than £35,000’ for the Stinger. In its range-topping twin-turbo V6 guise, the Stinger GT S is the fastest-accelerating Kia ever, with a 0-60mph time of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 165mph.

Huntingford commented:  “This 365bhp fastback can thrill when you want it to, yet remains comfortable and refined for your commute. And all that for a low price.”

Collecting both awards on the night, Simon Hetherington, Commercial Director at Kia Motors (UK) Ltd commented: “What Car? is held in high esteem by its readers and the industry alike and to win not one but two awards at tonight’s event is fantastic news. It highlights how our brand continues to grow in multiple ways and how the quality of our products is going from strength to strength.”
